Privacy
You don’t need an account to use the dictionary. If you sign in, we keep only what is listed below.
What we store
- The id of the account you signed in with (Google, Discord or GitHub).
- Your name and picture as that service gives them, and your email if Google gives it.
- Your favorite words.
- A sign-in cookie (sid) that keeps you signed in for 30 days.
When you report a problem, edit a word or record it
- We keep what you sent and a keyed hash of your IP address, to stop spam. The address itself is not stored.
- A recording is kept as an mp3 file; if it is not approved, the file is deleted.
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you are not a bot. It loads only when you open the form.
When you check words (Is it right?)
- We keep each answer (right or wrong, and a reason if you give one) with a keyed hash of your IP address and of a random id in the voter cookie, or with your account when you are signed in. The admin sees how many people answered, not who.
What we don’t do
- We store no passwords: you sign in only with Google, Discord or GitHub.
- There are no ads and no tracking cookies.
- We never sell or share your data.
Cookies and browser storage
- sid: keeps you signed in. oauth: only while signing in, for 10 minutes. nsfw: your choice about vulgar words. voter: a random id, so the words you already checked aren’t shown again (a year).
- Your browser’s storage (localStorage) keeps the theme, the translation direction and, without an account, your favorite words. They never leave your device.
- The server log keeps the pages requested and the browser’s name, to fix errors.
Deleting
- “Delete account” on your account page immediately deletes your name, picture, email, favorite words and connected accounts.
- What you contributed to the dictionary stays, without your name.
